This gorgeous golf course is the only venue selected to host The Ryder Cup twice, with their second appearance scheduled for 2029. This course was founded in 1962 to act as a national stage for golf, and it has exceeded expectations.
Le Golf National (L’Albatros)
This 18-hole course near Paris, France, was designed by architects Hubert Chesneau and Robert Von Hagge, in collaboration with Pierre Thevenin. While you may worry about the slick greens and undulating fairways, it’s the final four holes—surrounded by water hazards—that present a real challenge.
The Centenary (designed by 18-major winner, Jack Nicklaus) hosted The Ryder Cup in 2014, and it’s been called “the perfect combination of Scottish and American design.” Don’t let the dazzling landscapes distract you from the subtle complexity of this masterfully designed course.
The Ocean Course
The 1991 Ryder Cup Championship hosted at Kiawah Island was dubbed “The War by the Shore” and placed in the top five tournaments of the decade by Golf World magazine. A classic argument for perfecting the short game, this tournament came down to a 6-foot putt.
Bethpage Black is on the schedule for the 2024 Ryder Cup. The Black Course was designed by golf architect A.W. Tillinghast and renovated by Rees Jones in 1997. It has consistently ranked in the top 100 Greatest Golf Courses in America list by Golf Digest and was named the #8 public course in America.
This walking-only, links style course was designed by Pete Dye. The Straits at Whistling Straits® was ranked #3 in Golf Digest’s 2019/2020 America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses, #5 in GolfWeek’s 2018 Best Resort Courses, and #21 in Golf Digest’s 2019/2020 America's 100 Greatest Courses and will host the 2021 Ryder Cup.
