Tournament Schedule and Events

CLOSEST TO THE PIN (CTP)
If you competed in the Alpha Home Tour, you’re familiar with this format. During this challenge, players receive five chances to land their shot closest to the pin. With no winds and ideal weather conditions, the real challenge is the course itself.

3-HOLE STROKE PLAY
The point of this traditional competition format is to drop your ball in the cup with as few strokes as possible. At the end of the three holes, your score will be tallied. Unlike the majority of our formats, you’ll only get one chance to play through each hole.

5-HOLE STROKE PAY
This is a slight variation of the 3-Hole Stroke Play format. At the end of the five holes, your score will be tallied. Remember, you’ll only get one chance to play through each hole.

FLOP WALL CHIPPING CTP
If you enjoy trick shots, this round is for you. You’ll need to finesse your ball over a tall wall without overshooting the pin. Each player gets five chances to land closest to the pin.

LONG PUTT CHALLENGE
There are some greens that seem to go on for miles, and those are the greens we’ll be showcasing in this challenge. Take your time to get the lay of the land because each of your five shots will count.

FLOATING GREEN CTP
You’ll need to know the distance off each club in your bag to land this shot. The green may be flat, but it’s a small target floating in the middle of a large lake. You’ll have five shots to land on the green instead of in the drink.

WIND STORM CTP
Wind Storm puts slightly less focus on the challenges of the course (although we won’t go easy on you in that department) and more focus on your ability to adjust to your environment. You'll have five chances to fight the winds to land closest to the pin.

How to Compete in aG Tours

FAQS

Are there requirements for my aG Links simulator?

Yes. For online competition the aG Links simulator must be connected to the Internet. Note that aG Links must be running on version 1626 (or later as updates become available).

What username and password do I use for aG Locker?

  1. Any player who has an online account in aG Links or has logged into aG Data should use the same username and password for their aG Locker account. The same online account spans across our platform to give customers continuous access to the Modern Golf experience.
  2. If you’ve never used an online account, you’ll need to set up a new username and password using the instructions outlined above. We recommend doing this in aG Locker. Remember, the same credentials will be used to log into aG Links online when you compete.

Are there age or any other restrictions on who can participate?

Yes. Players must be 18 or older to qualify for prizes. For additional rules and regulations, see our full list below.

If I need help, who can I call or email?

Email support@aboutgolf.com or call 1-800-445-GOLF. Our normal hours of operations for Technical Support are Monday through Friday, 8am-8pm PST and 8am-11pm EST. You may also contact us using the new client Help Desk Portal! We will do our best to respond in a timely manner to resolve any questions, concerns, or issues you may be experiencing.

Can I invite friends to compete?

Absolutely! The more the merrier. Be sure to instruct them to set up their aG Locker account ahead of time so it’s easier for them to register for the event, log into aG Links for their turn, and view the leaderboard.

Can I log in multiple times to take more than 5 shots?

No.

Do I need to use aG Locker to register for the tour?

No, but we recommend using aG Locker to keep up with tour announcements, leaderboards and more. Plus, the process is simple! An aG Locker account is also a requirement for qualifying for any aG Tour grand prizes. We do provide alternative methods for people without access to aG Locker, please check out how to register on aG Links in the Instructions section.

Can my customers participate at my commercial facility?

Yes. The aG Alpha Tour is open to anyone with access to an aG Links simulator. If you’re an aG Partner, contact us at partners@aboutgolf.com for materials to help you market this event for your location.

What happens if I win?

You'll hear from an aG Alpha Tour manager about next steps. Be sure to check your inbox (and junk folder, just in case). We need a response in order to process your winnings.

My Screen froze so I backed out of the event. Can I still compete, or did I lose my 5 shots?

If you took any shots and they were captured on the leaderboard prior to the screen freezing, you may not retake those shots. Once shots are recorded, your available shots count down until all 5 chances are used. If you didn’t take any shots prior to the screen freezing, you can still log into the event and take all 5 shots.

My wife wants to compete. How do we select ladies’ tees?

The yardage for each competition is set and can’t be changed. All participants play from the same tees.

Is there a faster way to log in to compete?

Want to log into aG Links in seconds? If you have aG Links 1500 or 1600, a QR scanner will do the trick! Simply plug it in and tap SIM LOGIN in aG Locker to scan your code.

Where can I get a QR Scanner so I can log in to Links via my Locker 2.0 app?

We recommend the Symcode Omnidirectional Hands-Free USB Bar Code Reader. You can find it on Amazon here or through several other online retailers.

Do I have to waive my right to accept prize money to maintain amateur status?

Yes. As part of the requirement of USGA rules and standards, an amateur waives the right to accept prize money to maintain amateur status.

What’s an aG Skin?

An aG Skin is a form of currency in aG Tours. Some tournaments are free to enter, while other seasonal tournaments can cost multiple aG Skins to enter. aG Skins can be purchased in the aG Locker app beginning in October.
