Experience Brooklawn Country Club on Your Simulator!

aboutGOLF is pleased to welcome Brooklawn Country Club to our golf simulator course library. This 1920 Tillinghast design has been home to a number of USGA championships including the 2021 U.S. Senior Women’s Open. With tight fairways and sloping greens, accuracy and putting are rewarded at this staple of Connecticut golf.

What started as a 9 hole golf course designed and built by it’s members, has transformed over the years into one of the best course in Connecticut. In 1932, A.W. Tillinghast completed his redesign and expansion of the golf course. Gene Serezan, the former assistant pro at the club, headlined the opening day event five days after winning the U.S. Open. Since then, the Brooklawn staff has worked hard to keep the traditions of the facility alive while continuing to challenge golfers of all levels.

Now it’s your turn to take on Brooklawn on your aboutGOLF Simulator. We invite you take on the challenge of these tight fairways and undulating greens. You’ll be challenged from the opening hole, a 435 yard par 4, dogleg left. Big hitters can carry the bunker that sits 250 yards from the back tee and will be rewarded with an approach shot of less than 160 yards. Us mortals will be forced to play right of the bunker and face a 200+ yard approach to an elevated green. So much for a “gentle handshake” to open to this round.

Players face no relief after they conquer the first hole. Each hole is a challenge on front 9 and requires your attention on each shot. After making the turn, players may be excited to see a short par 3. Measuring just 135 yards, players can taste their birdie putt from the tee box. However, the narrow target sitting above vast bunkers makes any offline tee shot anything but a day at the beach. Good luck getting up and down from these greenside bunkers. As Arnold Palmer put it after bogeying the hole multiple times in the 1987 U.S. Senior Open, “it’s one of the great short par fours in golf.” Let’s hope you fair better than the King!

Golfers are treated to a wonderful finishing stretch of holes with a 335 yard par 4, a downhill 413 yard par 4 and 407 yard par 4 back up the hill to the iconic clubhouse. Demanding tee shots are required on all but they will be rewarded with good looks at the pin. Good looks at birdie can be had on all three holes. Putting just off the terrace of the clubhouse, a post round drink is well deserved after a challenging yet rewarding round!
