Practice Makes Perfect

Six Ways Golf Courses Can Increase Indoor Activity

Posted by Bill Kline on: April 19, 2011

Is your golf course looking for ways to increase indoor golf business year round? Here are six proven ways to increase your bottom line and participation on your golf simulator:

1. Take advantage of golfers who are milling around prior to the start of an outing by offering indoor closest-to-the-pin and/or long-drive contests. Give all participants a coupon for a free half-hour to use at a later date. Additionally, consider offering the simulator for an outing, to raise funds through a nominal entry fee and additional sponsorship opportunities.
2. In conjunction with PGA TOUR events, create tournaments to be played on your simulator’s golf courses. Consider formats such as two- or four-person scrambles using professional’s cards to tally final scores. Additionally, you could host a draw party the night before the final round to pick professionals to “play with” on the final day of the tournament.
3. Sell the naming rights to your simulator to a local business and redo the awning with that company logo.
